    • Just like other ATM/Debit Cards, the Account Name will be printed in front of the card. I just used this image to show how the card looks like in terms of the appearance and the colors. 🙂 Just bring the requirements and proceed to the nearest BPI branch and you’re good to go! I’m very sure a staff would assist you when you get there. 🙂

  1. Glad this is updated (your replies). A lot of people said they no longer accept Postal IDs. =( I hope you’ll make a post on how to get valid IDs. Hehe. And which ones the fastest/easiest/most convenient to get. Thanks!

    • The one who assisted me said that it’s better if you could provide “government issued IDs printed in hard plastic (pvc)” same with the ones used in ATM cards. I think Postal IDs are considered “secondary” since most of postal IDs are printed in card paper, that’s why I stated that it’s better to provide more than two IDs.

Sure! I’ll make a post on that one soon! Thanks for the tip! 🙂

  2. last month nag aply po kmi s bnko my statements of billing kmi my valid id,bkt ang hnhnge p nla drvr license e my postal nbi at philhealth anu pb klngn ang hirap amn mg open acount.

    • Most banks usually look for Government Issued IDs (printed in PVC Cards) and documents, like SSS or GSIS Card, Passport, etc. As far as I know, Postal ID and TIN IDs are “considered secondary IDs or supporting IDs” by some establishments. I’m not that sure though. Sometimes, it also differs from bank to bank and branch to branch. Try opening to another branch, they might consider your requirements.

    • Hi Lhei! Have you checked their website’s Frequently Asked Questions section? You might want to visit their site for more information or I suggest, you could proceed to the nearest BPI Branch. I’m sure they’d be more willing to help you open your first account. 🙂

    • as far as i know, aside from having a passbook where you could keep track of your transactions, you could also withdraw money over the counter (but this is only applicable in your branch) if atms are not available.

  8. BPI also offers a new promo (if that’s the right term for it) wherein ATM with Passbook or ATM with 10,000 pesos on their account could get a free credit card. Just apply for it.

  9. Hi just want to ask, I’am an online seller din kasi, but i use cebuana, w.u, lbc etc. in receiving payments but i have a bdo account passbook. Is it safe po ba to give your bank account # for clients who prefer bank paymnts?? Thank you !! 🙂

  10. When I applied for an ATM-only they told me that the maintaining balance is 1000Php only. Which is true, P3,000 or P1,000? What are the charges if i didn’t maintain the required balance? Would it be deactivated?

  11. Thanks to this and I hope I could open my first time account with BPI.

BPI doesn’t accept NBI, Police or even Barangay Clearance.

  12. Hi what’s the difference between the ATM Account that’s P3000.00 and the Passbook Account with ATM that;s P10,000.00? 🙂

  13. Hi! I’m planning to open an account as soon as I get back to the PH but I only have passport as a valid ID, do you think they will accept birth certificate as a second source of identification?

Anyway, thank you for the information above! Very helpfull indeed 😀

  14. Thanks for the informative post, I’m about to get one myself.

Quick question, can that ATM be used to verify my Paypal account? If not, what can you suggest that I can use to verify?

    Thanks.

  15. Hi! Stumbled here while searching for BPI requirements. I actually have a savings account with BPI Family Savings Bank. I got the BPI Easy Saver–the no-maining-balance account. Same requirements lang pala except for the initial deposit. 🙂

I was thinking of opening a regular savings account with BPIsland naman for my online shop. But I’m not sure with the requirements…student ID lang kasi ginamit ko before kaso ngayon expired na sya. I can apply for Postal ID pero kung tama nga yung sabi nung ibang readers here na di na nila ina-accept yun, I might have a problem. 😦

Anyway, thanks for the info! 🙂
